by Pu on February 14, 2014

All mobile artists and photographers are invited to take part in the upcoming Mobile Masters PROOF, a contest aimed at the promotion mobile photography as an art form and at assessing its most distinctive potential. Mobile Masters was born as one of the several projects of designer, author and photograher Dan Marcolina, also known for his other mobile-oriented feats, AppAlchemy and iObsessed.

Mobile Masters PROOF 2014

The previous edition of Mobile Masters was by invitation only. The juried contest format was adopted for the second edition to embrace a wider range of photographic and artistic influences and visions. The most deserving artists will earn a feature spread in the upcoming Mobile Masters iTunes app. Winners will be announced in the course of MacWorld in San Francisco on March 26.

Entrants are requested to submit a complete digital portfolio via link (which includes portfolios on networks as Instagram and Flickr) together with a fixed entry fee. There are two categories available, Discovery and Invention, the first being focused on exploration and uncovering of new photographic perspectives and the second on creative use of diverse techniques and tools to convey a personal concept.

The total number of artists awarded with the inclusion in the next edition of Mobile Masters is 48, but there are more prizes available to participants, ranging from involvement in a gallery show connected with the Empty Spaces Project to features in specialized publications. In addition to these, there will be also apps and other giveaways.

The deadline to enter the PROOF is March 2, 2014. Please, visit the official Mobile Masters page if you wish to read further details about the contest.
